Job Description
Tesla is hiring a React JS Developer to join its growing software engineering team in Austin. This role focuses on building high-performance, user-friendly web applications that support Tesla’s internal systems and customer-facing platforms.
As a React JS Developer, you will work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend engineers to create clean, scalable, and maintainable frontend solutions. You will be involved in planning, development, testing, and optimization of modern web interfaces used by thousands of users daily.
This position is ideal for developers who enjoy solving real-world problems, writing high-quality code, and working in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive web applications using React JS
- Translate UI/UX designs into functional and reusable components
- Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and services
- Optimize applications for speed, performance, and scalability
- Debug issues and improve existing features
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality standards
- Stay updated with modern frontend technologies and best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with React JS and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles
- Experience working with RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with state management libraries (Redux or similar)
- Understanding of version control systems like Git
- Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, but practical experience and strong project work are equally valued.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with TypeScript
- Familiarity with testing frameworks
- Exposure to cloud-based environments
- Previous experience working on large-scale applications
